This page demonstrates the capabilities of the ShipPlotter program to receive and plot position data from larger merchant vessels. ShipPlotter, using audio fed to the PC's sound card or a dedicated AIS receiver, decodes data received on 161.975 and/or 162.025 MHz, plots the ships position, and uploads data to the University of Aegean, Greece, where it is combined with other AIS feeds and made available to the public. The primary OCRG receiver is located on Mt Hebo, elevation 3200 ft. A N.A.S.A Marine AIS receiver with a KTAS All Message Chip is used with a 5/8 wave marine antenna.
